Deal or No Deal: Silence BROKEN amidst rumours of Pau Torres transfer – Pau Torres comments
Several reports had recently claimed that Tottenham had made advancements towards Pau Torres with a bid within the range of £43 million.

It is now apparent that the suggestions of such an offer may have been premature, with Pau himself speaking profoundly of the comfort he finds in the ‘Yellow Submarine’ alongside his crewmates.
Whilst leading from the back, the Spaniard still managed to tally an impressive 6 goals and 1 assist in 47 games under Unai Emery this campaign.
He has undoubtedly been one of, if not the the best defender for Villarreal over the past few seasons, with further proof of his growing dominance displayed in the recently concluded Champions League.

“The future will tell what happens but I am very calm, I do not look further and it is time to disconnect.”

Seemingly unaware of any proposed bids from the north London club — Torres proceeds to express that the only offer he’s conscious of is that of an improved contract from Villarreal, overruling talks of a move to the Lillywhites this summer.
“I have the peace of mind of being where they want me, where I have a valid contract and a renewal offer.”

Tottenham unfortunately missed out on a concrete agreement for the Spanish international 12 months ago, rejecting the opportunity to join the ranks under Nuno Espírito Santo; to the detriment of being unable to qualify for the Champions League.
“Everything is possible and I do not rule out anything,”
“These are very difficult decisions, there is nothing.
“There is no decision taken. The only offer I have today is the renovation with the Villarreal. I know they love me here and they love me very much.”

But with the dawn of the summer window edging ever closer, Spurs have once again been linked with the Villarreal defender.
Bastoni links cast doubt over Pau Torres offers

Torres could potentially become a buttress within Spur’s defensive line for years to come.
With Tottenham now well enrolled in the Champions League, Torres’ adeptness and talents would prove to be a significant boost to both squad depth and improved competitiveness respectively.
But with increased interest pivoting the situation around Alessandro Bastoni, it is logical to assume that no official offer has been made for Torres just yet.
